Volunteering
Welcome Future Members of The Bourg Society's Volunteer Krewe
To help brighten the lives of the aging adults in our communities, we are seeking individuals and companies to “adopt an aging adult.” In doing so, you can assist with various tasks, from companionship and errands to transportation and preparing light meals. We serve Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes. If you have a few hours to spare and a heart for helping others, we are looking forward to meeting you.
Many of our aging adults are facing isolation, loneliness, and challenges with daily tasks, and activities of daily living, and we believe that with your support, we can make their lives brighter and more fulfilling, allowing them to age in place safely in their own homes.
Whether you’re a skilled gardener, a friendly communicator, good at assisting with planning and organizing events for seniors, or simply have a knack for helping others, we have a place for you.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with your community and make a positive impact, and can be a deeply rewarding experience, offering opportunities for personal growth and connection.
We offer organization sponsored background checks, orientation, and volunteer training. All volunteers and their immediate families will be our guest at our annual holiday luncheon and early summer picnic, and the annual Boomers and Bombers Ball at the World War II Museum New Orleans.
